_The Cannabinoid Manifesto

_Years ago, cannabis activists jointly known as Publius decided to write a book about a plant we love.

Our book, The Cannabis Papers, was inspired by the Publius from The Federalist Papers. We constantly found ourselves returning to certain unalienable Rights; the same Rights expressed in the Declaration of Independence: Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

We started by learning about the cannabinoids in cannabis. We then started learning about the cannabinoids in humans. Our cultural term – “marijuana” – was used less and less. We love marijuana and its slang; we also want to end this war. To that end, we must use the best terms available: the language of science.

We understood cannabis as beneficial before we knew cannabinoids were absolutely essential. We started thinking in a new way – as if our minds had been colonized and prejudiced by “marijuana” prohibition in ways we hadn’t been able to perceive. The study of cannabinoids decolonized our mental landscape.

Prohibition culture runs on willful ignorance. It has inverted our unalienable Rights to the point they would now read – Death, Confinement and the imposition of Misery. “Marijuana” prohibition is a political construct used to justify authoritarian control.

Cannabinoids, to the contrary, are present at all the most genuine moments of human experience. From conception to birth; from thought to communication; from maintaining health to allowing sleep – cannabinoids are consistently there.

Astonishing new research is being investigated on the power of cannabinoids. We already know that cannabinoids:

    •    Kill cancer cells (it’s called apoptosis)

    •    Protect the central nervous system

    •    Correct numerous neurological disorders

    •    Allow alcoholics to avoid alcohol

    •    And modulate all systems in the human body

Our government was so impressed by this type of research that it patented cannabinoids in 2003, patent #6,630,507. It did not, however, end its war on herbal cannabinoid supplementation and the citizens who use the patented medicine.

Science continues to peel back the veil of ignorance created by prohibition’s untruths. In The Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx wrote of “a specter haunting Europe.” Prohibition’s willful ignorance is our specter.

Humans use cannabinoids to live. That means a prohibition against herbal cannabinoid supplementation is anti-life. That makes it absurd – and legally lethal.

Cannabinoiders of the world, Unite!
